Our Fall Schedule for Kindermusik classes is now posted on our website and open for registration!

To make it easier to plan your year of Kindermusik we are moving most of our class schedules to a school year calendar – September to June classes. And easier still – monthly payments!

Register today! Simple, Easy, Flexible . . . Enroll once now, and you’re done for the year. We’ll charge your card on the 5th of each month (September 2012 to May 2013). Should your child need to move up to the next age group, we’ll help you do that at theme change time. EASY in, but easy out too (we assume you’re here to stay until you tell us otherwise). If you need to cancel your enrollment (not gonna happen…you love us!) all we require is written notice before the 1st of a new month to avoid incurring charges for the new month.

Each School Year 2012 – 2013 Kindermusik enrollment includes:

32 weekly developmentally appropriate classes (September 15 – June 1)
New Home Materials with each new curriculum theme
Helpful parent resources, tips and communication – in class and online
Unlimited make-up classes!

Due to space restrictions our Dance Program have been temporarily suspended until further notice. We will keep you informed as to the when the Dance Program may continue.

Sample Class Descriptions & Schedule:
All sample classes will be 20 minutes in length.

Choose your class:

Village – 0 to 18 months and their parent/caregiver- 11:00am
Our Time – 18 month to 3 years and their parent/caregiver – 10:00 am
Imagine That! – 3 to 5 years with parent/caregiver joining the last 5 minutes – 11:30am or 6:00pm
Family Time – 0 to 7 years with their parent – 10:30am or 5:30pm

INFANT INCENTIVE: If your baby is younger than 3 months at the time of your first class, your Kindermusik Village classes are FREE until they turn 3 months! You just pay for the home materials cost ($35)!

Moves & Grooves families who are currently registered in classes are given “front-of -the-line” booking preference if booked by Wednesday, November 2nd.  All other bookings are on a first come, first serve basis.

Sample Class Descriptions & Schedule:
All sample classes will be 20 minutes in length. Parents, caregivers, or grandparents, may attend all sample classes, but please note that most classes for 3 years and up are usually without parents.

9:30am- Imagine That! (3 to 5 year olds)
In a Kindermusik Imagine That class, your preschooler’s soaring imagination takes off on a musical journey of discovery and exploration. Musical activities are integrated with vocal development, storytelling, movement and literature to capture your child’s potential to learn and to encourage cognitive and literacy skills, creativity and individuality.
10:00am – Our Time (18 month to 3 year olds)
In a Kindermusik Our Time class, your child will uncover an engaging musical world that encourages creativity and nurtures social development as you play instruments, sing, move and explore together. As you provide the security and comfort she still needs, she’ll learn how to control her body, speak her mind, and build the independence she wants.
10:30am – Family Time (0 to 7 year olds)
Kindermusik Family Time is a class designed for families with one or more children who want to participate in an activity together. You’ll play instruments, dance, explore, develop musical skills, share and take turns in a multi-layered learning environment. Discover how music brings you closer as a family.
11:15am – Village (0 to 18 month olds)
A Kindermusik Village class is a special place for connecting with other parents and babies through musical learning. You’ll learn about your baby’s unique development, and how to encourage growth of the neurological connections in your little one’s brain. Together, you’ll sing, dance, play, snuggle and discover during activities that stimulate and engage all of the senses.

12:00pm – Salsa Babies (for Moms with Babies in carriers)  Salsa Babies offers a great workout, a chance to socialize with other moms, and an opportunity to introduce one’s child to music and movement. Not to mention, it’s perfect for people who have always wanted to learn to dance, but could never convince their partner to take lessons!  Classes are appropriate for babies approximately 6-8 weeks of age and up.  All levels of fitness and dance experience are welcome.
12:30pm – Hip Hop 3 & 4 (3 & 4 year olds)
Learn the coolest hip hop moves to date, along with some hip dance sequences. Your kids will learn some old school, new school, popping and locking and even some cool break dancing moves. All classes are done in an upbeat fun environment with age appropriate hip hop music.
1:00pm – Themed Preschool 3 &4 (3 & 4 year olds)
In a group setting your child will have the opportunity to explore their creative side through the art of movement and musicality, in a fun and friendly environment.  Movement focus will be on Ballet, Jazz and Creative Movement.
2:00pm – Hip Hop 5 (5 year olds or 4 year olds who have been through Hip Hop 3 &4 or similar)

3:00pm – Themed Preschool 5 (5 year olds, or 4 year olds who have been through Themed Preschool 3 & 4 or similar)

Mommy Connections West Edmonton

Mommy Connections West Edmonton Director is excited to be part of the Moves & Grooves Open House.  Mommy Connections provides a unique learning opportunity, as well as a fun way to bond with your child and other moms in a social environment. They offer pre & post natal programs, as well as a NEW Toddler Connection program which will start September 6, 2011 at Moves & Grooves. Stay-at-Home Parent Support

Eligible families who have one parent who stays at home or works, volunteers or attends school less than 20 hours per week may qualify for a subsidy of up to $1,200 per year for each pre-school-aged child who attends a licensed pre-school or an approved early childhood development program.

What is an approved early childhood development program?

These are community-based services, that provide opportunities for pre-school children to participate in activities that promote healthy child development.

Eligible Programs

• Programs that promote parent and child literacy
• Play-based early childhood programs (e.g., moms and tots programs)
• Educational programs that help parents meet their child’s learning and developmental needs
• (e.g., Positive Parenting, Nobody’s Perfect); community-based recreational programs (e.g., Swim and Learn, Baby Steps)
• Licensed pre-schools
